Privacy Policy

My Football Story is built privacy-first. The short version: we do not collect your personal data, and nothing you create in the app ever reaches us. There is no account to create and no profile to fill in.
Who we are
The app is published by Barbanson Data Solutions ("we", "us"), the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch AVG. You can reach us at debarbanson@debdc.nl.
What we collect
No personal data. We operate no servers that receive your information, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software, and no third-party data SDKs.
What stays on your device
Everything you do in the app is stored only on your phone, under your control:
- the nation you choose to follow;
- your score predictions and any results you record;
- your watch-party diary entries and any photos you attach;
- your preferences (appearance, date and time formats, reminders).
This information is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. If you uninstall the app or use "Delete all my data", it is gone.
Photos
When you add a photo to your diary, you can either take one with your camera or choose an existing one. Taking a photo asks for camera access the first time you use it (on iOS); choosing an existing photo goes through your device's system photo picker and does not request access to your photo library. Either way, the photo is stored locally on your device only and never leaves your phone.
Match data and network use
So that scores and standings can stay current, the app may download a small, public match-results file over a secure (HTTPS) connection. This is a one-way download of public sports information: no personal data is sent. As with any internet request, the service hosting that file may record technical information such as your IP address in standard server logs; we do not control or receive those logs. The app works fully offline if you prefer, and this feature can be ignored simply by staying offline.
Notifications
If you turn on match reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device. No push servers are used and no information leaves your phone to deliver them.
Children
The app is suitable for a general audience and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Your rights and choices
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or export. You remain in full control of the data on your device and can erase all of it at any time from Settings using "Delete all my data". Under the GDPR/AVG you may still contact us with any question at debarbanson@debdc.nl.
Payments
My Football Story is a paid app. Your purchase is handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play under their own terms and privacy policies; we never see your payment details.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and post the new version on this page.
